A flow yoga class taught in a style appropriate for beginners to intermediate. Each class begins slowly, then builds up in pace and difficulty of movement, before we rhythmically flow back down to a slower pace for savasana. Options are offered throughout the practice to go deeper into a more advanced asana (pose). Movement is linked with the breath to help navigate the more challenging postures and to encourage overall calm and wellbeing.
This Main Hall of the Parish Centre is located just behind the church on Julian Road.
Parking is available.
Please enter via the back door, up a few steps. We will be sharing the Parish Centre with the Bridge Club, whom use the front room.
If you do not have your own mat, it is ESSENTIAL you book your place at least 2 hours in advance. I have 10 available.
If you do not book in advance, I will not have a mat available. I encourage you to bring your own if you have one.
Unfortunately, I do not have a car. Therefore I will need to haul the mats uphill to the Parish Centre. Part of yoga is taking care of yourself. It would cause stress and strain on my body to haul mats for unconfirmed places weekly; increasing wear and tear. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for understanding.
A themed class for children to learn different yoga poses and relaxation techniques. This class presents an opportunity for your children to learn balance, movement and breathing techniques in a fun, engaging way.
This time of year many people start to become anxious. Christmas is looming, as is New Year. A time where many of us can set expectations for ourselves that if we do not reach or complete, usually ends with us being unkind and abusive to ourselves in our words and thoughts; especially our thoughts. I invite you to come and spend the day with me at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, to nourish your mind and body, mentally preparing yourself for the coming holidays and the end of the year.
The day will begin with a welcome circle, followed by meditation, to prepare ourselves for our yoga practice. You will be invited to release any of the worries or tasks you may need to do, to focus on spending time on yourself, for yourself. After a dynamic 75min yoga practice, that will focus on listening and being kind to your body, there will be a short 15-20min break before we sit down and enjoy a vegan lunch. The lunch will consist of both warm and cold options, as well as delicious juice and hot drink options.
After lunch we will take a short walk to Victoria Park, where we will do a guided, meditative walk through one of my favourite places to go in the park. Rain or shine we will still go to Victoria Park, so do bring a waterproof jacket if rain is forecast on the day. However, the area is a bit sheltered, so you will not get soaked.
Upon returning from our walk, we will sit down and have another hot drink in a small closing circle. You will be given a small goodie bag to take away with you.
What to wear? Loose, comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, such as gym/exercise gear.
Suitability/Level: All levels of yoga practitioners welcome, from complete beginner to experienced yogi.
This retreat is suitable for all yoga levels and abilities, however, you must be able to walk a short distance to Victoria Park. Any enquiries, please contact me via the form on my website or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Failing that, please feel free to call or message me on 07577323098
